measure YOUR HEAD

Step 1

STEP 1

Locate a soft, flexible seamstress tape measure. Determine the widest portion of your head, typically starting just above the eyebrows and in the rear, you may feel a slight knot on the back of your skull.

tip

No soft tape measure? Simply cut a 30” piece of string and grab a yard stick.

Step 2

Using a mirror, place the tape so that centimeters are visible starting at the front and wrap it comfortably around your head covering the widest portion until it overlaps above the eyebrows and ears.

If using a string method, follow the steps above. Mark on the string where it overlaps so that you can lay it down against the yard stick to determine the length in inches.

You should be left with a measurement between 52 & 63 centimeters. Use our provided conversion chart below to determine your appropriate hat size. Enjoy.

Made for style

Perfect Fit & Style

It fits me like a glove (L), it gives a “careless”/casual look and it’s not at all on the formal side. I bought it because I really liked how it fitted on Brad Pitt and also for the difficulty of finding this type of shape, not old looking and not too strict of a shape but just about right for my taste... I have to say that a team member of the support division really helped me through the purchasing process and went far beyond a Q&A, even suggesting an international shipping method through a partner of Goorin Bros. The only sad remark I’m to write regards the international shipping. I had to pay 31.32€ for the custom fees over what I had already paid for shipping through Goorin’s partner (MyUS), 22.18€ For international shipping which is fine. But a total of 151.5€ for a cap is way too much. It is totally not Goorin Bros’ fault but I had to say what happened to me truthfully.

2017 vs 2018 size / shape difference (UK made vs USA Newark)

I have owned 3 Ben Paul’s and the ones from 2017 and before made in the UK were better stitched, clean shaping (round) on the back. The newer ones from Newark seem to use a slightly different linen material. 2018 feels less premium, stiffer. Maybe less breathable than 2017. The sizing is also off. I wear a small on a Navy UK made one but the small Mint one made in Newark was a 1/2 size tighter. The top was baggier (a pleasing roundness) on the Navy, the lid stitched all around. The US made lid is stitched only on the tip of the front of the lid, the stitching seen on the inside of the lid and slightly uneven. The lid board material is sturdier in the UK Navy flatcap. The Mint is tighter around the band. I guess it’s an American-British thing? I prefer the British style (better shaping, size and material) but I still love them both. American made just hugs me tighter, looks flatter on top. I’d order again but need to try them on in store first for the $99 price tag — but I’ve returned one online before and the customer service is excellent!
